It was in the Itata Valley in Chile that the vines were destroyed. More than 600 wine producers are affected by the forest fires. Some wine producers have lost everything. It is announced that there would be more vineyards destroyed than the fire of 2017. The vines of the Pais grape variety, located in the Bio Bio Valley, are almost entirely destroyed. Unfortunately the affected vineyards are located very close to Eucalyptus and pine forests which spread fire very easily.
