How is the calculation made?

For each country, the calculator determines the customs value, applies the customs duty for the product, adds excise duty, then the VAT or taxes due on import. Each amount is rounded once, line by line.

When a rate depends on information you have not given, the calculator asks for it instead of choosing for you. When data is not available, the line says so and the result is shown as partial.
