The structural crisis in the American wine market is beginning to produce concrete effects on employment. California giant Gallo, one of the world's largest wine producers, has shut down several production facilities and cut nearly 100 jobs, in response to softening demand and declining consumption among younger generations. This move is part of a broader trend: several California wineries have chosen to close or restructure under the combined pressure of tariffs, inflation and shifting consumer habits.
