The Bordeaux 2025 en primeur campaign has opened in a paradoxical context: a vintage unanimously hailed as one of the greatest of the decade, yet a market weakened by unsold stocks from previous years and extreme price sensitivity. Experts agree in describing 2025 as a fully contemporary vintage, combining freshness, precision and clarity in a warm, dry climatic context. Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe stand out particularly, with several châteaux recording their best-ever en primeur scores. However, volumes are down approximately 25% from the ten-year average, reinforcing selective buying. The campaign represents a crucial test for the survival of the en primeur system in its current form.
