Y 2014 from chateau d'Yquem

Since 2010, the Yquem team has been striving to maintain the right balance between blending and residual sugar to ensure consistency in the Y style. This connoisseur's wine, produced in a limited quantity of 10,000 bottles, is made from 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Sémillon. The very distinctive character of this wine, which is “dry without being dry” (7 g of residual sugar) and made from very slightly botrytized grapes, makes it a highly acclaimed dry Bordeaux.

“Y” 2014 has a golden yellow color with delicate golden highlights. The nose, with its beautiful aromatic power, reveals an airy, fresh, precise and pure character, with aromas dominated mainly by yellow-fleshed fruits. Very indulgent! The agitation is ample, giving precision to the fruit (vineyard peach, Reine Claude) and adding a floral character of yellow rose petals. The attack is remarkable, sharp, with a beautiful acidity that balances the richness of the wine. The mid-palate is enhanced by very crisp fresh ginger. We love the bergamot retro-olfaction. The finish lingers on the fruit, all wrapped up in a very precise acidity. A great success!
