Clear and star bright with an evenly dense moderate ruby core and gentle garnet rim.
Complex and layered nose with an alluring character, first impression is toward woodland and dried herbs like wood bark, dried verbena and angelica root, dry spice box, underneath you can find sweet spiced dark plum and morello cherry combined with stewed strawberry. Aeration reveals further complexity of fine roasted oak, cinnamon bark and an earthy mineral scent of graphite and smoke, generous, layered and still developing nose.
Very good density and bite on the attack with velvety dressed tannins and juicy fresh acidity underneath, slightly warming spicy character. Midpalate has very good concentration, flesh and depth without heaviness, showing sweet ripe red and dark plums and savory red cherries, macerated orange peel, gentle dry spices like cinnamon bark, nutmeg and gently roasted wood. Polished and velvety texture with a slightly warming finish and savory scents of dried herbs like bay leaf and oregano, very persistent finish with an earthy mineral character.
A wine with layered complexity and charm combining spice, dried herbs, fine oak, earthiness and beautiful line of ripe sweet fruits. A wine which is in a perfect drinking window with a very polished texture but will develop some complexity during the next 4–6 years.
