Bright and deep ruby core with a lighter ruby red rim, elevated viscosity with thick tears.
An ample nose with attractive dark-fleshed sweet cherry and plums combined with hints of dried prunes and figs. Aeration reveals scents of violet in combination with dry spices like cinnamon and clove.
Despite its youth, there are hints of woodland and smoke, scents of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, and sweet cherry marmalade. Good complexity for a young red wine.
Moderately built structure with chalky textured tannins and well-retained fresh acidity underneath providing balance.
The mid-palate shows sufficient depth and volume with ripe fresh black cherry, dark sweet plum and dried sultana in combination with flavors of black tea leaf, hints of bergamot and cinnamon, gentle roasted wood notes and a pleasantly bitter touch of roasted coffee and dark chocolate.
Nicely balanced palate with good freshness providing a persistent aftertaste.
A very polished and velvety Primitivo with good freshness, balance and purity of fruit. Great with roasted wild duck in a dense red wine and blueberry sauce with gentle dry spices.
Enjoy between 16°–18°C from a large couped red wine glass.
